Marketing Manager (m/w)

Primary function:
This position covers the EMEA region and will be engaged in forecasting demand in the context of the annual profit and strategic plans, performing market analysis to assist business units, identifying and analyzing customer segment needs (OEM and end-user), understanding competitor strategies and capabilities through business intelligence and competitive analysis, managing the customer satisfaction analysis process, developing sales and marketing presentations, coordinating MARCOM activities and supporting the Value Cycle process with value proposition development.

The position of the Marketing Manager – EMEA will be responsible for gathering market information, analyzing customer wants & needs and delivering strategic marketing insights to support Vehicle Group business units. The Sales & Marketing Director VG EMEA will provide guidance along with VG Marketing and EMEA Corporate Communications. This position will also lead MarCom activities in the region, in concert with plans and strategies of VG Global Communications and EMEA Corporate Communications.

Essential functions:
Develop vehicle related demand forecasting models to support the Profit Plan and Strategic plans for the EMEA region

Build critical market research capabilities in the EMEA region to gather, analyze, and deliver insight on markets, OEMs and Aftermarket, end users, competition in alignment with VG Global Marketing.

• Define and Implement a European MarCom Strategy to raise the level ofEaton brand awareness and understanding across the region, and to support product launches and sales strategies in EMEA. Additionally, support MARCOM Activities in EMEA in close coordination with Vehicle Group Communications and Corporate Communications..

Ability to identify Business Intelligence topics and questions and implement appropriate data mining and analysis. Maintain strong intellectual curiosity regarding market dynamics and implications and opportunities for Eaton.

Ability to transform market research information into critical business insights for executive and line management by synthesizing findings into clear written reports and PowerPoint presentations. A critical competency is communication skills.

Understand and manage the PDI process for the annual survey to ensure actionable findings and follow up

Utilize the value cycle as the foundation for marketing activities and support the development of value propositions by working closely with the sales organization and the VG businesses.

Ability to identify news worthy events for distribution within the VG, to plan, develop and implement EMEA exhibitions, to manage web content within the Eaton site, to write press releases if needed, and to develop relationships with the industry media.

Build a Market Research function that is focused on satisfying the informational needs of the major business units within the division
Coordinate gathering and distribution of market information throughout the organization
Build critical market research capabilities to gather, analyze, and deliver insight on:
-OEM understanding
-Competitive intelligence
-Market forecasting
-End user needs

Use the market research capabilities to inform key planning and executive activities
-Technology planning and research and development
-Product planning and product development
-Market planning and sales
-Operations planning and management
-Business strategy

Development in the development of long range (strategic plan) and short term (marketing plan), marketing strategies for VG EMEA
Interface with the Product Planning Product Strategy function in the business units
Increase Eaton brand awareness and positive perceptions of company and products across targeted audiences.
Lead strategy and planning of EMEA VG MarCom programs and tactics to support product launches and growth initiatives in EMEA.
Support EBS and EBEA activities

Basic qualifications:
Excellent negotiating, interpersonal, communication, and strategic planning skills.
Broad business acumen, ability to plan and manage execution of business plans, solution selling.
Demonstrates deep understanding of the customer's industry and organization (customer focus).

Education: BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or Business. MBA strongly preferred.
Minimum experience: 5 years, managing reports, languages (English, German)
Financial Skills: P&L, cost estimating, pricing, IRR, NPV, CFROG, etc.
