The purpose of this blog is to provide some food for thought with regards to what you should be paying particular attention to when you are building an email campaign.

Image to Text Ratio

The majority of email designs start off as an image. This is because it is easier to move bits around in software like Photoshop or the free paint.net.This is then passed around the office to the stakeholders to sign off before being converted to an HMTL email - where much of the content will end up being actual text and not part of an image.

This is where the difference between a designer, a web-designer and an email coder become evident. Some designers will just slice up the image and call it an email, some web designers will only take text out of images and make it real text where the design allows. Email designers however will understand the sacrifices you have to make for design in order to allow maximum engagement to an email whilst still maintaining the look and feel of the brand and avoiding the junk folder.
